&TEAM has confirmed that their new track “For us” will serve as the theme song for the live-action film Wandance. Written specifically for the movie, the song arrives digitally at midnight Japan time on August 1. JO takes the lead as high schooler Kaboku “Kabo” Kotani, a reserved teen who finds freedom through dance after meeting a free-spirited classmate. The film, directed by Naoya Kusaba and adapted from Coffee’s popular manga serialized in Monthly Afternoon since 2019, opens in Japanese theaters on November 27. A trailer already circulating features JO’s dance sequences set to the new track. The group noted that the lyrics mirror the protagonist’s emotional journey of finding his own answers, while JO said the words felt like the character’s life itself, letting him sing with the same intensity he brought to the role.

&TEAM, the nine-member global group under YX Labels formed through the 2022 survival show &AUDITION – The Howling, has steadily expanded since their December 2022 debut. Recent milestones include their third consecutive million-seller Japanese release We on Fire and the upcoming second Korean mini-album Mark on Me on September 8, plus dome shows in Japan and Korea later this year. This marks both JO’s first film lead and the group’s first movie theme song, arriving as they balance group promotions with individual projects.
