Starship Entertainment’s rookie boy group AEN unveiled the official tracklist for their first EP, A New Era of Now. Slated for release on August 5 at 6 PM KST/JST, the project already feels like a statement piece from the powerhouse label behind MONSTA X and IVE.

The eye-catching reveal features playful pin-badge visuals for each song title, mirroring the group’s name – A New Era of Now – and its promise of fresh energy in the present moment. As a seven-member unit formed through Starship’s partnership with Japanese agency Amuse, AEN brings together Korean talents Bomin, Jiyong, Kyuhyun, and Junseo with Japanese members Haru, Haruto, and Kaira. Several honed their skills under the spotlight of the 2025 survival show Debut’s Plan.

Standout tracks include dual-language versions of “Clockwise,” the presumed title track “X to Z,” and “Focus On Me,” delivering five core songs across ten total cuts. This bilingual format isn’t just clever marketing – it’s a strategic bridge for broader Asian appeal.

“Multinational groups like AEN represent the next evolution in K-pop,” a Seoul-based music industry analyst with over 15 years tracking J-pop and K-pop crossovers. “By committing fully to Korean and Japanese versions from day one, Starship is giving fans authentic access while positioning AEN for strong regional charts and tours. It’s smart, fan-focused planning that could pay off big.”

Having followed Starship’s roster for years, I’m particularly intrigued by the raw potential in this lineup. Their pre-debut buzz suggests tight synergy and stage-ready charisma. If the music matches the ambition, AEN could carve out a distinctive space in the competitive 2026 rookie scene.
